About the Broker,

Parrish and Associates, REALTORS

For the past 27 years Hugh Parrish has been ferociously representing his clients, including Fannie Mae and more than 75 other financial institutions, in all aspects of their Real Estate transactions. With more than 6,500 transactions, Hugh has a rich market history and is a high-demand instructor at the Austin Institute of Real Estate.

In 2006 Hugh opened Parrish & Associates, REALTORS® so that he could more quickly implement emerging philosophies. As the Broker of Record, Hugh oversees both his own and all agent (three) transactions to insure top notch service and unwavering client representation.

Our Philosophy Parrish and Associates, REALTORS® was founded February 1, 2006. After 25 years in Real Estate Brokerage and Management, Hugh Parrish started this new company in order to move more quickly than larger companies toward the emerging philosophies of the business while maintaining his dedication to face-to-face service. The acronym for Parrish and Associates Realtors is PAR, which in our company, also stands for Pure Agency Relationships. We believe strongly that a Broker can and should represent only one side of any transaction. Although Texas law allows Brokers to act as "Intermediaries" when working with a buyer and seller in the same transaction, it seems obvious to us that neither party is truly being represented.

Representation implies unwavering loyalty and honest advice to the client, sometimes to the disadvantage of the other party in the transaction. We view our role to our clients as one that involves providing constant education to the current market, our opinions and advice based on current market trends, and our ability to accurately interpret the market specifically to the needs of the client. Law prohibits Intermediaries from giving opinions, advice, or interpreting data. These three areas are the core of the service we provide, and for which we are compensated.

For these reasons, we believe each party in a transaction should have their own independent representation. It makes no sense to have a listing agreement with a seller, then meet an interested buyer, and then inform the seller that we can no longer tell them what we think. In short, we really do put the needs of our client in front of our needs.

Due to this rather extreme view of the business, Parrish and Associates, REALTORS® has no subsidiary or affiliated businesses. In this day of "one stop shopping", we have resisted the temptation to have related business entanglements with a Mortgage Company, Title Company, Maintenance Company, etc. We go out of our way to avoid even a perceived conflict of interest, so we create a situation that guarantees no conflict.
